Kiwami " スープ 旨い!芽味噌 おすすめ❤! オーナーも親切 あたたかい 店!"

 Kiwami

Kiwami has a known reputation for great ramen. This shop is my personal favorite, as I have been going here for ramen since I began living in Japan. This is also a favorite among the students of Sapporo University. Here was where I discovered my love for Ramen when two church members came here with me back in February of 2011.

The waiting area has a very nice lounge space with a full manga library for the patron.  This is very convenient considering how popular this Ramen shop is. If you come at a particularly busy time you will be comfortable waiting.

The best way I can explain how good their Ramen tastes is to say that it has what every "Ramen lover" looks for. So many miso soups are a one note soup, but this soup is a symphony of flavor drawing you in from every angle. It has a very full miso taste but with a diverse array of herbs and spices that provides a rich flavor yet not overpowering in any way. This soup is a full meal that will leave you satisfied.

This is us taking a picture after we finished determining Kiwami's ramen score back at the church.  We highly recommend this Ramen shop for not only its good Ramen but of the excellent service. We had a great time together as the shop provides a very warm atmosphere. The owner takes lots of pride in his work and is dedicated to giving you the best ramen experience.

Shirakabasanso - "ふんいきのより、さんそう で たべる、 あっさり ラーメン"

Shirakabasanso

For our next Ramen club meeting we went to "Shirakabasanso". This ramen shop has a very good reputation and is well known in Hokkaido. This particular ramen shop has several shops in Hokkaido.

Inside the shop there was a forest! These trees are where the Ramen Shop gets its name. Where as Americans know them as White Birch, in Japan they are called Shirakaba. Everyone agreed that this provided a very relaxing atmosphere.

The ramen soup was well balanced with a simple flavor and pleasing aroma. The soup had a delicate blend of vegetables and meat that mixed well together and complimented the overall taste.

This ramen shop may become a top favorite of the group.

Kohaku - ”みせ は きれい だ が 、 あじ は こい”

Kohaku

For the first Ramen Club meeting we went to a ramen shop that was very close to the church. Having heard rumors from friends that this new place was not good, we wanted to inspect it and see for ourselves.

For most of the evening we had the whole place to ourselves. This is not surprising as this shop has large windows in the front of the store and usually looks empty. Being the only ones there, we had great service. For instance, we had frequent water refills for our cups.

We needed frequent refills for our cups because of this particular Ramen soup was very salty. My friends kept saying the word "Koi". The verdict of this ramen was that the soup was too salty and too strong to be ranked high. It was not terrible, but nothing in it praiseworthy.

Nevertheless we had a fun time, being ramen judges is a lot of fun!
